Nicholai Buechter, 19, a sophomore in biological sciences, was killed in a traffic accident on Tuesday, Aug. 29. He was from New Haven, Mo.

The electrical and computer engineering department will host a retirement reception honoring Dr. Randy Moss and Sandra Martin 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, in Room 136 Emerson Hall. Dr. Randy Moss, professor of electrical engineering, has served the department for 36 years. Sandra Martin, senior secretary, has served for 17 years.

The second annual S&T Brand Symposium will be held Thursday, Sept. 7, in the Havener Center. This free event is an annual meeting of S&T leaders and communicators. Participants will hear from experts and get connected to the university’s vision for marketing and branding. Morning sessions and lunch are open to all who register at brand.mst.edu/brandsymposium. Some spaces are still available in an afternoon workshop 2:15-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7: “Improving your communication through improv,” by Nathan Stewart, director of inbound marketing and content strategy at Intouch Solutions, a pharmaceutical marketing agency.

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, the University of Missouri System’s One Card reconciliation process will move from JP Morgan PaymentNet to PeopleSoft Travel & Expense (T & E). To learn more about the new features of One Card reconciliation, visit the training website and sign up for a presentation or interactive webinar. Training will be held at Missouri S&T today (Thursday, Sept. 28). Webinars are planned on multiple dates in October. View the schedule and register online.

Dr. Jeff Cawlfield will present “Overview of Academic Integrity Issues at S&T” noon-1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, in the Meramec-Gasconade Room of the Havener Center. Cawlfield is vice provost for undergraduate studies and professor of geosciences and geological and petroleum engineering.
