Tickets on sale for chili fundraiser
Lambda Sigma Pi, a women’s service organization, will host all-you-care-to-eat “Chili, Chips and Cheese” meal 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, located at 17 St. Patrick Lane in Rolla. All proceeds will go to local charities.

Dining services will host its annual holiday luncheon 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B of the Havener Center. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Phelps County Community Partnership. Tickets cost $15 each and reservations are required. Honor student artists at today’s reception
The Fall 2017 Student Art in the Library Exhibit will be open on the second floor of Curtis Laws Wilson Library from Monday, Oct. 30, through Friday, Dec. 8. Please visit the exhibit and vote for your favorite piece for the exhibit’s Peoples’ Choice Award. Artists will be honored during a reception at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the library.

To meet University of Missouri System’s annual training requirement, faculty and staff are required to pass mastery tests for two courses by midnight Tuesday, Oct. 31:
- “Building a Foundation: Discrimination Prevention and Title IX” will take approximately one hour to complete. Visit umsystem.edu/ums/hr/ec_training to access the training in myLearn.
- “MakeITSafe Information Security Awareness,” will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To access the training, log in to myHR at myhr.umsystem.edu, click on the “Training and Performance” box, and then click “MakeITSafe Training.” You will be directed to a Skillsoft course titled, “Security Awareness for End Users.”
What can you make in Makerspace? Find out at open house
Students will host an open house for S&T’s Makerspace 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Room G5 of the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building (IDE). Students will showcase the resources, space and tools available in this learning environment. This event is open to everyone and will include snacks and prizes.

Ghoul all out on Halloween
Halloween is coming and the campus will be crawling with festivities on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Here are seven ways to slay the holiday:
- Stop by the S&T Store for a costume contest and Halloween-themed games, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Come in costume to Staff Council’s Fall appreciation event for staff, 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Puck.
- Keep your costume on and warm up with a bowl of chili at the engineering management and systems engineering department’s annual Halloween costume contest and chili cook-off, with lunch served 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Enter Missouri S&T’s carved pumpkin contest by posting a picture of your S&T-themed pumpkin on Missouri S&T’s Facebook page by noon.
- Bring your little goblins to trick-or-treat at “Trunk-or-Treat” 4-8 p.m. in the University Commons parking lot, Lot H, located on University Drive.
- Delve into a deeply disturbing den at the Haunted Mine, 6-11 p.m. at the Missouri S&T Experimental Mine at 12350 Spencer Road.
- Last but not least, make sure you have completed your annual University of Missouri System training requirements by midnight.
Don’t default – annual enrollment ends Oct. 27
Annual enrollment began Oct. 16 for benefit-eligible faculty and staff and will end Friday, Oct. 27. Enroll now through myHR. If you do not enroll – even if you wish to waive coverage – you will default to the Healthy Savings Plan and pay taxes on your monthly premiums.
