On May 12, nearly 1,300 new S&T graduates in fields as diverse as business, the humanities, engineering and science will head out into the world. Helen White of Edgar Springs died May 8. She was 89. White worked in accounting at Missouri S&T for several years and retired in 1990. Visitation for family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. tonight (Thursday, May 10) at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the same location, followed by interment in the Roseberry Cemetery in rural Phelps County.
Read More »New sewer line going in on 11th Street
Weather permitting, work to install a new sewer line for S&T’s student diversity initiatives building will begin Monday, May 14. The house is located at 605 W. 11th Street. During the work next week, part of the street will be blocked off and the driveway to the house will be torn up. There will be a period during the week in which the restrooms will be unavailable in the house; employees can use the restrooms in Bertelsmeyer Hall instead during this time. The parking lot across from Hasselmann Alumni House, Area A, Lot 4, will be closed Tuesday, May 15, and Wednesday, May 16, for a private event. On those days, permit A holders may park in any other lot on campus, with the exception of Lot F. For more information, please contact parking operations at 341-4303.

Two new courses, both called “Sustainability as Trope and Theme in Latin America” will be offered online during the second four weeks of the 2018 summer semester. The class is asynchronous (students complete their work on their own time). No textbook is required; students will use a selection of publications and online resources.

Dr. Christopher Maples, interim chancellor, will update the campus community on the latest budget developments during two budget briefings today (Wednesday, May 9). Please plan to join him and your colleagues at either session. The budget briefings will be held:

Testing center notes possible delays
Due to the large volume of exams administered through the Testing Center, students may encounter a 30- to 45-minute delay with the starting time of their scheduled final exam. In addition, students using Testing Center services may be asked to start final exams 30 minutes earlier than the regularly scheduled final exam time. Testing Center staff will not release students who finish early until 15-20 minutes after the regularly scheduled final exam time.
