The Missouri S&T Gaming Association will host CogCon 25, a local gaming convention. This event will be held on the second floor of the Havener Center beginning Friday, Sept. 18, and lasting through Sunday, Sept 20. Various games will be offered, including Pathfinder Society, D&D 5th Edition, Axis and Allies, Warhammer 40K, Star Wars X-Wing, Pathfinder Adventure Card Game and more.

Dr. David Oakley, professor emeritus of music, died Thursday, Sept. 10. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Null and Son Funeral Home, located at 1010 Kingshighway, in Rolla. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Decatur City Cemetery in Alabama.

An exhibition of nature-based photographs and paintings by two area artists is coming to the Leach Theatre lobby. An opening reception for the collection, titled “East/West Landscapes,” will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the Leach Theatre lobby of Castleman Hall. A string duet, comprised of Missouri S&T students, will provide music for the event and refreshments will be served. The reception is free and open to the public. Read more about the event online.
