Learn about anaerobic biotech from a guest lecturer

Dr. Glenn Ulrich, technical director of the environmental division of Parsons Commercial Services, will present “Application of anaerobic biotechnologies for environmental remediation and green energy production,” at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in Room 318 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Ulrich’s lecture will focus on the anaerobic biotechnology field and how ongoing research could lead to greater implementation to combat environmental contaminants. The lecture is sponsored by the Environmental Research Center.

Spring textbook adoptions past due

Learn more about records management

Do you have records that are taking over your office? Need to learn how or where to store them and what can and cannot be stored? The university archives and records management will host two workshops about proper storage on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The first session will be 9:30 a.m.-noon and the second will be 1-3:30 p.m., both in the Ozark Room of the Havener Center. Let’s Talk and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

The Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Diversity and Inclusion is partnering with student wellness group Joe’s Peers to host a Let’s Talk discussion on sexual violence and a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The discussion will be 4-5 p.m. and the walk will be 5-6 p.m., both taking place at the Havener Center. There will be snacks and hot chocolate for after the walk, and the first 75 participants get a free Walk a Mile T-shirt. Join the group for the discussion and to raise awareness about sexual violence.

Staff Appreciation Day is Oct. 30

In appreciation for the work and dedication of Missouri S&T staff, Staff Council invites all staff to join them for free hot chocolate and hot apple cider 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Puck. A Staff I.D. is required for admission. Staff Council will also have a pumpkin-carving contest that day. Drop off a carved pumpkin between 8:30-8:45 a.m. to the tent at the Puck. After voting, the winning pumpkin will receive a sweatshirt from the S&T Store.
