The campus literary and arts magazine, SOUTHWINDS, is seeking new material for its spring 2016 issue. SOUTHWINDS welcomes original poems, stories, creative nonfiction, artwork and photography from all students, faculty, staff and alumni. International travel resources for faculty and staff

The University of Missouri System provides two types of insurance coverage for faculty and staff who travel internationally for university purposes. This insurance coverage is provided at no cost to the traveler or university department. AIG coverage includes travel accident and sickness benefits. UHC Global coverage includes evacuation and transportation services. UHC Global also provides an online location for travelers to store electronic medical information, copy of passport, travel schedule, etc. Faculty and staff who will travel internationally may contact Amy Smith in international and cultural affairs at 341-6875 to receive details of the coverage, identification card and emergency contact information.

Physical facilities service request to go offline for maintenance

The physical facilities service request form, MAXIMO maintenance, will be offline for a short period of time beginning at 4 p.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 19). During that time, customers will not be able to open a service request. If there is a facilities emergency during the outage, call 341-4252.

New residence hall named University Commons

Missouri S&T is pleased to announce that the name “University Commons” has been selected for the new residence hall currently being constructed on University Drive. University Commons is a 450-bed apartment-style facility that will house students in primarily eight-person apartments. Each apartment will have four bedrooms, a living room, full kitchen and two bathrooms. The building will also utilize the latest security technology by providing access to rooms through the Student ID card. University Commons will open in August 2016.
