Joe’SS full service restored

Joe’SS was upgraded this past weekend to a new version of PeopleTools. The upgrade went well and Joe’SS is back up and running. It is suggested that users clear their cache on their computer to ensure that the new version runs smoothly. Internet Explorer users will need to redo any bookmarks referencing Joe’SS.

Elections for 2016-17 vacant positions on Staff Council are here. Staff Council will have five vacant positions to fill. To nominate someone for Staff Council, visit the Staff Council website. You may nominate yourself or any other eligible staff member at Missouri S&T. Any “benefit eligible” employee with at least one (1) year service before July 1, 2016, is eligible for election to the Staff Council. Nominations (by electronic form) must be received no later than Friday, July 15. Election procedures and a list of current council members can be found on the Staff Council website.

‘Suns Out Guts Out Car Wash’ at TKE

Director of TTED writes for IEEE magazine

The June 2016 issue of IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement features an article written by Keith Strassner, director of Missouri S&T’s office of technology transfer and economic development (TTED). The article, titled “The Value of Ideas – Intellectual Property,” reviews the various types of intellectual property (IP), methods of protection and recent issues against the backdrop of the ever-increasing importance of IP and other intellectual assets as critical components of the economic development mission of universities, research hospitals and non-profit research foundations. The article includes an introduction by Dr. Reza Zoughi, Schlumberger Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering.
