TEAMS event hosted at S&T

Teams of students from five regional high schools tested their STEM knowledge at a competition held on campus on March 18. The TEAMS program is an annual STEM competition that challenges middle and high school students to work in teams and apply math and science in practical ways to solve everyday engineering challenges.

Longtime electrical engineering professor dies

Dr. Burns E. Hegler, professor emeritus of electrical engineering at S&T, died on March 14, 2013. He earned a Ph.D. from Kansas State University, where he taught from 1957 until he joined the electrical engineering faculty at S&T in 1968. He retired in 1991. No information on a memorial has been released.
