Read More »Dr. Joseph W. Newkirk, associate professor of metallurgical engineering at S&T, was recently named a 2013 Fellow of Alpha Sigma Mu, the Materials Honor Society. He was honored at the society’s 2013 meeting in Montreal, Canada. The award is given to those who achieve a “seminal international standing in the materials science and engineering profession.” Newkirk is the faculty advisor to the local student chapter of Alpha Sigma Mu.
