Blood drive rescheduled

The Missouri S&T Blood Drive, sponsored by Staff Council, has been rescheduled to Friday, June 27, and Monday, June 30, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B of the Havener Center. This change was made to better accommodate new and regular donors.

Migration to FreeSWITCH VoIP

Information technology will begin moving the campus to the new FreeSWITCH VoIP System this summer 2014. The conversion will be conducted one department at a time with full implementation completed during the fall 2014 semester. Each department will be contacted prior to the conversion and given a target date to begin the migration.

PeopleSoft upgrade complete

The upgrade to PeopleSoft HR and myHR has been successfully completed. It is recommended that you use web browsers Firefox or Chrome with these applications. There are functionality issues with all versions of Internet Explorer that PeopleSoft hope to resolve soon. Users are asked to report any issues to the HR Support Helpdesk.

New dining location construction

Construction starts Monday, June 16, on a new campus dining location. The new location, named Mondo Subs, will be located in the Havener Center dining area. Guests wanting to visit Rustic Range must enter and exit through the doors on the east side of the building that open onto the patio. Normally these doors are exit-only.

RE-CAST seminar June 17

The Research on Concrete Applications for Sustainable Transportation (RE-CAST) university transportation center will host a seminar at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, in Room 209 Computer Science Building. Dr. Antonio Nanni, the Lester and Gwen Fisher Endowed Scholar and professor and chair of the civil, architectural and environmental engineering department at the University of Miami will present “Extending the Life of Concrete Structures: Fiber Reinforced Composite Material (FRCM) Technology.” All faculty and students are invited to attend.

Water outage in four buildings

Educational research projects funded

Four educational research projects developed by Missouri S&T faculty have been funded for the 2014-2015 academic year as part of a mini-grant program co-sponsored by the office of the vice provost for academic affairs and the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation (CERTI).
