Leach Theatre ‘Try-It’ package

Leach Theatre is offering a special “Try-It” season ticket package for the 2014-15 season to current Missouri S&T faculty and staff. The “Try-It” package is a two ticket package that allows you to purchase a ticket to any two Campus Performing Arts or Leach Special Event performance for $48. Faculty and staff may purchase up to two “Try-It” packages.

Havener Center tree replacement planned

This week, contractors working on the campus pedestrian walkway removed the trees lining the walkway to the Havener Center entrance. The trees, little leaf linden trees, are a popular food for Japanese beetles and had been infested. Their replacement, however, is part of the campus’s landscaping master plan. As part of the master plan, nearly twice the number of trees will be planted outside the Havener Center and along the new pedestrian walkway. Crews will plant a variety of trees that were selected for their seasonal presentation. Planting a variety of trees will help avoid devastation in future years if disease strikes one variety. Varieties to be planted include, bald cypress, Carolina silverbell, white birch, American yellowwood, maple, honey locust and three varieties of oak.

Area F Lot 1 blocked Tuesday

Design and construction management will block Area F Lot 1 parking spaces until noon Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the north side of the Physics Building to conduct roof repairs. Area F permit holders may park in Area P or Area A on that Tuesday to accommodate for the loss of spaces.

Parking lot announcements

Asphalt patchwork for Area F Lot 1 and Area M Lot 12 will begin today (Monday, Aug. 11). While the lots will be open, any permit holders who are unable to find a parking space may park in another area during this time and receive a parking honor while the lot is undergoing construction.
