Anastasia Decker of the Missouri Department of Agriculture will speak at this month’s Rolla Bee Club meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 1341 California Dr., in Rolla. The event, sponsored by the Phelps County Extension of the University of Missouri, is free and open to the public.
Decker manages the state’s DriftWatch program, where beekeepers can register their hives on a statewide map accessed by farmers and other pesticide users. The program emphasizes sharing information so that both beekeepers and farmers can protect honeybees from pesticide exposure. Decker will also share information on what plants to grow for pollinators. For more information, email University of Missouri Advanced Master Gardener Charlotte Wiggins or call evenings 573-364-1908.
