Read More »Missouri S&T will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of its geothermal energy system at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, on the lawn adjacent to the east side of McNutt Hall. That portion of McNutt Hall showcases a fully operational geothermal energy plant. Tours of the facility will be available following the ceremony. The project, which began more than four years ago, is one of the most comprehensive projects of its kind ever undertaken by a college or university.

Read More »The iGEM Design Team will lead a demonstration of DNA extraction as a part of the One Book Program’s series of events at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in St. Pat’s Ballrooms A and B of the Havener Center. The current One Book selection, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, deals explicitly with genomic research and DNA. The iGEM team members will explain the nature of DNA research and lead participants in a hands-on demonstration that actually results in DNA extraction. The event is free and open to the public.
