Students are invited to join a panel discussion titled “Building Bridges: Connecting Across our Communities to Remove Barriers,” which will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, in Room 120 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Students can learn about resources that are available to help them deal with various situations, know that the community and campus care about them, and be able to better connect with the community. Southwinds, Missouri S&T’s literary and arts magazine, publishes a new issue of original work by students, faculty and staff each spring. If you have poems, short fiction, non-fiction, photographs or artwork that you would like considered for inclusion in Southwinds, submit the material to swinds@mst.edu or contact Dr. Anne Cotterill before Sunday, Feb. 1.

The Spring Career Fair is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the Gale-Bullman Building. Career opportunities and employer relations (COER) is currently looking for volunteers to help at the event, with shifts available throughout the day. To volunteer, fill out the volunteer form on the COER website.

Diane Henke recently celebrated her 30th work anniversary with Missouri S&T and with the Rock Mechanics and Explosives Research Center (RMERC) this past Jan. 14. She celebrated the occasion with her department.
