Fort Leonard Wood forum March 2

Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader and Provost Robert Marley plan to attend an upcoming public forum to discuss potential job cuts at Fort Leonard Wood and encourage the campus community to join them. The forum will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Fort Leonard Wood’s Nutter Field House. Last week, Schrader and Marley hosted Fort Leonard Wood Commanding Gen. Les Smith in an office visit, then announced their intention to join the general and the Fort Leonard Wood communities at the March 2 public forum. “The Army is considering a 40 percent reduction of its assigned uniformed and government civilians,” Steve Tupper, the campus’s liaison to the fort. “The economic, education and research outfall of that would noticeably affect the campus.” Tupper encourages campus community members to join the chancellor and provost for the forum.
