Final forum on proposed tobacco policy is Friday

The final open forum to discuss plans to implement a tobacco-free policy for campus will be held from 3-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. Krishnamurthy steps down as vice provost for research

Dr. K. Krishnamurthy, vice provost for research since 2007, has resigned from the position effective Monday, Jan. 25. A member of the Missouri S&T faculty since 1986, Krishnamurthy will return to the mechanical and aerospace engineering faculty next fall following a sabbatical.

Brand identity site scheduled to launch Feb. 1

As part of the Miners Dig Deeper brand identity refresh, a new website with additional information about the brand identity and tools for implementing the brand is scheduled to launch on Monday, Feb. 1. The site will provide guidelines for using the brand voice in written, print and online materials, access to templates and design elements, an online builder to help the campus community create flyers, posters and other materials quickly and easily, and more.

John Myers named acting vice provost and dean, College of Engineering and Computing

Burken named interim chair

Dr. Joel Burken, Curators’ Professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, has been named interim chair of that department effective Dec. 21. Dr. Douglas R. Carroll, who has served as acting chair of the department since September, will return to his full-time duties as director of the Cooperative Engineering Program between Missouri S&T and Missouri State University in Springfield.
