Dr. John Myers, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering and associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Engineering and Computing, has been named acting vice provost and dean for the college. Myers’ appointment took effect Thursday, Jan. 7.

“John has served Missouri S&T well as associate dean for the college, and I am confident in his ability to lead the college as acting vice provost and dean as we continue discussions with department chairs and faculty leadership on future directions for the college,” says Dr. Robert Marley, Missouri S&T provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs.

A member of the Missouri S&T faculty since 1999, Myers has served as associate dean of the College of Engineering and Computing since January 2015. As acting vice provost and dean, he succeeds Dr. Ian Ferguson, who stepped down from the position due to personal and family medical reasons.

“Based upon further feedback from these discussions, I anticipate the search for a vice provost and dean for the college will begin relatively soon,” Marley says.
