Ever wondered what “CUI” means or if a research project is “export-controlled”? Want to invite a foreign scientist to join your research team? What if the visitor is funded by a foreign country? What needs to be updated in your “current and pending/other support” documents? Maybe you’ve been invited to speak at an overseas conference, or your assistance is needed to prepare an international agreement?

Each of these activities involves research security, an important yet often misunderstood part of the academic research ecosystem. S&T’s research security and compliance team provides resources and guidance to help safeguard the U.S. research enterprise against the misappropriation of research and development.

Want to learn more? You’re invited to an information session at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, in the Innovation Lab Forum. Refreshments will be provided. Attendees will meet Jessica Graham, the new research security officer, and learn about this new role and how she and her team can support your research security and export compliance.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
