Several faculty members submitted proposals for the Ignition Grants for Sustainable Educational Transformation (IGSET) program, which provides departments or faculty teams with up to $50,000 to develop educational innovations to facilitate sustainable, transformative enhancements in online learning or on-campus education.
The 2025 IGSET recipients are:
- Victoria Braeger, assistant professor of English and technical communication, was awarded $29,248 for “Restructuring the Game Studies Minor.”
- Cassie Elrod, chair and associate professor of business and information technology, was awarded $57,500 for “Meeting the Demand for an Asynchronous STEM MBA with Specialization Tracks.”
- Abhijit Gosavi, professor of engineering management and systems engineering, was awarded $10,000 for “Developing an Online and Asynchronous Version of an Operations Management Course.”
- Seonjun (Sean) Kang, assistant professor of business and information technology, was awarded $20,000 for “Department of Business and Information Technology.”
- Amaury Lendasse, chair and professor of engineering management and systems engineering, and Robert Marley, Robert B. Koplar Professor of Engineering Management, were awarded $36,700 for “Creating Asynchronous Business Analytics and Data Science Graduate Certificate.”
- Nicolas Libre, associate teaching professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, was awarded $44,472 for “Flipping the Mechanics of Materials Course: Embedding Entrepreneurial Mindset through Experiential, Project-Based Learning.”
- Gayla Olbricht, professor of mathematics and statistics, and Nilanjan Chakraborty, assistant professor of mathematics and statistics, were awarded $30,080 for “Stat 3113 – A Modern Interactive Approach to Teaching Engineering Statistics.”
- Jeffrey Winiarz, associate professor of chemistry, and Katie Shannon, teaching professor of biological sciences, were awarded $21,000 for “CHEM 1305: Fundamentals of General Chemistry (Flipped Course Format).”
