Dr. Martin Bohner, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of mathematics and statistics, had a busy summer of international engagements and research collaborations.
In May, Bohner visited the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, as part of his Australian Research Council Discovery Grant project titled “Partially Observable MDPs, Monte Carlo Methods, and Sustainable Fisheries.” During this visit, he delivered a lecture in the mathematics department on May 16.
Bohner’s tour continued with an invited presentation at the Institut de Mathématiques et de Sciences Physiques in Porto-Novo, Benin, on June 5. He also collaborated with Dr. Giuseppe Caristi, an associate professor at the University of Messina in Italy and gave a plenary talk at the APPLMATH2024 conference.
In Paris, he presented a plenary talk at the 29th International Conference on Difference Equations and Applications on June 28. He gave another plenary talk at Analysis, Topology and Applications 2024 in Serbia on June 30, followed by a visit to the University of Kragujevac in Čačak, Serbia.
