The First Year Fest will be held on Tuesday, Apr. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. alongside the Student Union Board’s Block Party at the Jack Carney Puck. Students completing their first year on campus (including transfer students) will be invited to take pictures with friends in the photo booth, tie dye bucket hats or totes, register for fantastic prizes (including scholarships!), and enjoy walking tacos. Campus resource staff will be on hand to address barriers that students might be facing in achieving academic success or in re-enrolling.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday in April leading up to the event, students have been encouraged to drop by the Got Barriers? booth to discuss barriers they might like assistance with, as well as to gain extra entries for prize drawings at the First Year Fest. Tomorrow, April 17 will be the final chance to visit the Got Barriers? Booth at the Havener Center Atrium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Encourage students who are completing their first year on campus to attend to celebrate one year down!
