As part of Missouri S&T’s partnership with the JED Campus Program, which works to protect the emotional health of our students, suicide prevention and mental health is the highest priority. S&T will add the 988 suicide and crisis lifeline resource to student and employee death announcements. By adding the lifeline to these announcements, S&T ensures that the campus community knows how to access immediate help when in distress.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s previous 1-800 number had eleven digits. By switching to a three-digit code, it is easier for people seeking help for mental health emergencies to do so regularly and without stigma. You can get immediate assistance by calling, texting, or chatting online. Learn more online.
