Theater students from Missouri S&T’s arts, languages, and philosophy department will perform “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” this December.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” will be performed at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1-2 with a 2 p.m. matinee on Dec. 3 at Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall. “Dog Sees God” will be performed at 10 p.m. on Dec. 1-2 and at 7 p.m. on Dec. 3 in the Black Box Theatre in Room 143 of Castleman Hall.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is a musical based on Charles M. Schulz’s “Peanuts” comic strip. The book, music, and lyrics were written by Clark Gesner, with additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. The show follows Charlie Brown and the “Peanuts” gang as they explore life’s big questions, play baseball, sing songs, and cherish friendship.
“Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” is a play by Bert V. Royal that reimagines characters from the “Peanuts” comic strip as degenerate teenagers. When CB’s dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife.
Tickets for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” are $15 for the public, $10 for children under 12 and Missouri S&T students with ID. “Dog Sees God” tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for S&T students with ID. This show contains mature content and is intended for ages 17+.
