Ron Miller, past president of the Missouri S&T Board of Trustees, died Oct. 26 at age 82.
Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from S&T in 1964. He was a strong supporter of the university and the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity throughout his life.
In addition to S&T’s Board of Trustees, Miller was a founding member of the S&T Academy of Chemical Engineers and a member of the Order of the Golden Shillelagh. In 2006, Missouri S&T honored him with an honorary doctorate, at which time he also delivered the commencement address.
After retiring in 2000, as the general manager and vice president of Procter & Gamble, Ron and his wife, Janice, began tutoring at-risk students and volunteering for non-profit organizations. They also established the Ron and Janice Miller Scholarship for Academic Access, an endowment that supports Pi Kappa Alpha scholarships.
