Finding a ride has never been without challenges, however, some recent additions may help Missouri S&T students with their transportation needs. Having a car on campus can make getting to places easier, but it is also good to know available options for traveling locally in Rolla, or catching a plane at the St. Louis, Springfield, or Kansas City airports.

Beyond just checking in with friends or classmates, Missouri S&T Rides and Roommate Connection is a private Facebook group where Missouri S&T students can find and/or offer rides to different locations at different times. Often students with cars are glad to receive assistance with gas money by providing an open seat in their car. Or students needing a ride can check to see if anyone is going either directly to, or at least closer to, their destination at the time that they need.

Local Transportation

Southeast Missouri Transportation Service (SMTS) recently began operation of a bus loop that serves the Rolla area during standard business hours, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students only need to travel about two blocks south of our campus to access an official SMTS bus stop. Stop requests can be called in (for pickup) or requested during rides for stops closer to campus. Visit Connect-Rolla for schedule and fare information, or call 573-364-7687.

 Although generally more expensive, private taxi services offer private service and are only a phone call or app use away.

1)     A+ Taxi and Transport is open 24/7 and offers transport and delivery anywhere in Missouri. Call 573-426-3322.

2)     Quality Cab is open until 2 a.m. serving Rolla and nearby areas. Call 573-426-3737.

3)     Uber and Lyft may have drivers available by checking the UBER and LYFT  apps.

 Trips to the Airport

USA Express offers airport shuttle services with daily pickup times to and from the St. Louis Lambert Airport. Transportation to or from the Kansas City and Springfield airports may also be arranged. For schedules and pricing, visit their website at https://usaxonline.com, or call 800-872-9399.

Silverback Shuttles is an on-demand private charter which offers one-way airport shuttle service, and luxury transportation across Missouri. Visit their Facebook page for more information, or call 702-510-4154.

STL Shuttle Service is a St. Louis based shuttle service which provides rides from Lambert St. Louis Airport to Rolla. For booking, call 314-450-6453, or book online.
