The Fall Career Fair at Missouri S&T is coming up on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 9am to 3pm, and will be attended by hundreds of company recruiters seeking Missouri S&T students to fill their needs for internships, co-ops and full-time employees. While parents can’t (and shouldn’t!) attend the day of the fair, here are two ways parents can help.
1. Encourage your student to utilize the MANY resources available at the Missouri S&T Career and Opportunities and Employer Relations (COER) office. COER can help students with career advising, professional headshots, and resume building, and interview tips, and many students obtain co-op and internship experiences throughout their undergraduate years.
2. Help your student be prepared with professional dress attire. Students may participate in “Suit-Up Event” at J.C.Penney in Rolla on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 6-9pm to receive career wear discounts. Also, the Career Closet on the third floor of Norwood Hall has helped to provide over 500 students with professional attire each year.
The Missouri S&T Career Fair requires professional dress for entry. Here is a guide to help understand professional dress:
