Audery (Maria) Shaub, previously Missouri S&T’s proposal developer for early career faculty, has recently been named lead proposal developer for the office of the vice chancellor for research and innovation’s proposal development unit.
“This position is essential to improve the quality of strategic and large proposals, and Maria brings a wealth of experience in this regard,” says Dr. Kamal Khayat, interim vice chancellor for research and innovation. “I am excited that she has chosen to accept this challenge at such a critical time for our institution.”
Shaub succeeds Summer Young, S&T’s first lead proposal developer, who left campus in May to accept a position as senior research development associate at Washington University in St. Louis.
“I would like to thank Dr. Khayat for the opportunity to serve in this vital role at such an exciting time in S&T’s history,” Shaub says. “I look forward to continuing and expanding proposal development services as we work towards attaining our ‘North Star’ goal of R1 Carnegie classification. I will work diligently to fill the now vacant early career faculty position, to create a new position to reinforce PD services, and then to grow the unit for maximum faculty support in the years to come.”
Shaub joined Missouri S&T in 2010 and has served as a post award administrator, pre-award administrator and proposal developer. Prior to joining S&T in 2010, she worked in several federal grant programs under federal and state agencies including Department of Labor, Department of Justice and AmeriCorps. She is a Missouri native and earned a bachelor’s degree in English and mathematics from Central Methodist University.
