Student Health Services cautions students on the effects of electronic cigarettes and vaping, in light of nationally reported cases of severe lung damage.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S Food and Drug Administration, and state health departments are investigating a multi-state outbreak of lung injury associated with the use of e-cigarette products.

While this investigation is ongoing, CDC recommends that you consider refraining from using e-cigarette or vaping products, especially those containing THC. If you have symptoms like those reported in the outbreak, visit Student Health at 910 W 10th St. or contact your healthcare provider.

For more on the CDC recommendations, visit https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/e-cigarettes/severe-lung-disease.html.

For help quitting, Miner Wellness offers free nicotine cessation/coaching sessions, patches, and quit kits. Contact minerwellness@mst.edu or 573-341-4225 to schedule your first session.
