Dr. Fiona Nah, professor of business and information technology, will give a talk during the psychology colloquium 1-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in Room 318 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Her presentation title is “Neural Correlates of Flow Experience.”
“Flow” is an optimal state of experience in which one is completely absorbed and engaged in an activity and nothing else seems to matter. This research identifies electroencephalogram (EEG) correlates of flow experience in an online gaming context. Researchers used a laboratory experiment to capture EEG data of the flow and resting states of video game players and carried out data analysis to compare them.
