Alanna Krolikowski’s article,“Shaking Up and Making Up China: How the Party-state Compromises and Creates Ontological Security for Its Subjects” is published in the February issue of the Journal of International Relations and Development. Krolikowski is an assistant professor of history and political science.
Her article addresses the observation that on one level, the party-state undermines individuals’ ontological security while it simultaneously provides individuals the resources to buttress their ontological security. Krolikowski’s conclusions are supported by research on Chinese politics.
