Dr. Kathleen Sheppard, associate professor of history and political science, co-organized and co-led the History of Science Society’s fourth annual The Humanities and Technology Camp, or THATCamp, on Nov. 12 in Toronto, Canada. The event was an “unconference,” in which the schedule was determined by participants. People of all experience levels were welcome to interact, try out new applications, ask questions, give advice and learn.
The event’s theme was “Developing Digital Skills for Historians.” Sheppard’s co-organizers were Danielle Picard, a Ph.D. candidate in modern European history at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and Dr. Stephen Weldon, associate professor of history of science at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
