The “All Things Green” art show is on display in the Leach Theater lobby through Thursday, May 8. Twenty- two local artists formed this show in celebration of nature and as a social commentary to the power and fragility of the balance of nature. The paintings address humanity’s place in the protection or destruction of nature. This show is in conjunction with the book No Impact Man, which was required reading for all incoming freshmen through the S&T One Book Program. The author, Colin Beavan, spoke at S&T on Earth Day.
Artists include: Paula Brewer, Mary Lou Corn, Louie Smart, David Plank, Dan Woodward, Mary Lowe, Ellen Pierce, Wayne Feeler, Ray Morgan, Jan Roberts, Ginni Gaunt , Sue Stormes, Jeanenne Silleck, Suzanne Schacker, Lorraine McFarland, Ilene Myers, Luce Myers, Orville Reeves, Greg Greenway and Lynne Grannemann, as well as students, Rachel Skipper and Desirae Lavatae.
The ninth annual Missouri S&T Student Art Show “High Impact Art” will be on display in the Havener Center atrium Saturday, May 11, through Thursday, May 16. It will include drawings, paintings, glassware, photography and sculptures from six different classes this year. A reception for the student artists will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 13, in the Havener Center atrium.
