Eat for Life is a new 10-week program that uses mindfulness as the foundation for learning how to create a healthy relationship between food, mind and body. The program is suggested for chronic dieters, people with rigid “healthy” rules about eating, and people who eat when stressed, bored or unhappy. Using mind-body practices such as meditation and yoga, participants will learn how to listen to the wisdom of the body for better health and well-being. Beginning Sept. 8, the program will meet from noon–1:30 p.m. on Mondays in Room 103 of the Engineering Management Building (note the change in location from the previous announcement). A $40 materials fee, which will be collected on the first day of class, includes CDs and books. Those who attend nine of 10 classes will receive a $20 refund. To enroll, contact Jerry Parmeley at parmeleyj@umsystem.edu.
