Volunteer to help with Engineering Day Feb. 26
The Missouri S&T’s Kummer Center for STEM Education will host more than 500 students in grades 7-12 for Engineering Day on Thursday, Feb. 26, and volunteers are needed. The event will run from 9 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, S&T will host the regional Science Olympiad competition, and volunteers are needed. Science Olympiad is the premier team STEM competition in the nation. It provides standards-based challenges to 6,300 teams at 425 tournaments in all 50 states.

Volunteer at the St. James Caring Center on commodity day
The St. James Caring Center commodity day is 7:30-9:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of every month. Volunteers are needed to push loaded food carts to clients’ vehicles and unload them.

The Kummer Center for STEM Education is S&T’s K-12 outreach center. The Center hosts multiple on-campus events each year to engage youth in STEM education and get them excited about a possible future as a S&T student. These events require many volunteers to be successful.

On Tuesday, May 14, the Kummer Center for STEM Education will host approximately 800 elementary students on campus to engage in STEM-related activities. Students begin to imagine their future careers as early as elementary school, and we want those thoughts to be sparked by STEM.
