The University of Missouri System’s office of finance has implemented several changes to the Travel and Expense (T&E) module within PeopleSoft to improve the user experience. The changes became effective July 1. While they may seem small, these changes are expected to increase data accuracy and reduce the number of necessary clicks by 1.5 million a year. Read More »Curators approve new tuition structure
A new tuition structure, approved by the University of Missouri System Board of Curators in May, goes into effect in the fall. Under this new structure, undergraduate and graduate non-resident tuition rates will increase by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 2.1 percent. This increase complies with a state law that requires public colleges and universities to limit tuition increases to the CPI. For undergraduate students who are residents of Missouri, however, tuition will increase by 1 percent as the result of an agreement with the Missouri General Assembly.

The University of Missouri Board of Curators reviewed and approved revisions on June 21 to Collected Rules and Regulations (CRRs) that will give faculty and staff more flexibility with paid leave. Missouri S&T’s Staff Council offers a scholarship program to assist staff members who are furthering their education. Full-time S&T employees enrolled in at least one class at Missouri S&T or another University of Missouri System campus can apply for a $250 scholarship. Scholarships are awarded twice yearly, for the spring and fall semesters. The deadline for the fall semester is Friday, June 15.

The University of Missouri System will hold a pre-retirement seminar via telepresence 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, in Room 201A of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. The free seminar is designed for faculty and staff 10 years or less from retirement; however, all faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Das receives President’s Award for Sustained Career Excellence
University of Missouri System President Mun Choi presented Dr. Sajal Das with the President’s Award for Sustained Career Excellence on April 11. Das is a professor and Daniel St. Clair Endowed Chair of computer science. He is one recipient of 10 awards bestowed by the president in 2018.
