Staff Council is now accepting nominations for Staff Excellence Awards and two new accolades: Outstanding Newcomer Award and Outstanding Faculty Award. Nominations are due Friday, April 19.

Gift basket donations needed
Support S&T staff by donating a gift basket or other item to be raffled off during Staff Appreciation Day on Wednesday, May 29. All money raised from raffle items goes to fund Staff Council initiatives.

Mark your calendars for circus-themed Staff Day
Missouri S&T’s Staff Council will host Staff Appreciation Day 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, in the Havener Center. The theme will be “Under the Big Top: The Greatest Staff on Earth.” Check eConnection and the Staff Council website for more details as the date nears.

Share your ideas for a staff day theme
Missouri S&T’s Staff Appreciation Day at the end of the spring semester will be here before we know it. Do you have an idea for a theme that you would like to share? Previous themes have included sports, “welcome to the jungle,” the wild west and Willy Wonka. Please email your suggestion to Staff Council at staffcouncil@mst.edu by Wednesday, Dec. 12, and your theme idea will be considered.

Celebrate at today’s Staff Appreciation Day
“Fiesta at High Noon” is the theme of Staff Council’s Staff Appreciation Day. The schedule includes these activities, all in the Havener Center today (Wednesday, May 30):
- 9-10:30 a.m.: Opening ceremony in St. Pat’s Ballroom
- 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Paint and sip in the Carver-Turner Room (sign up)
- 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Chair massage in Shamrock Room
- 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Bingo in Einstein’s area
- 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Door prize pickup in the Burgess Room
- 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Poker and other games in the Meramec-Gasconade Room
- 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Team building with career opportunities and employer relations (COER) in the Missouri-Ozark Room
- 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Raffle, popcorn, wellness table, Staff Council table and a jam session with Nellie Wilson, all in the Havener Atrium
- 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Lunch (taco bar) in the dining area
- 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Paint and sip in the Carver-Turner Room (sign up)
- 2-3 p.m.: Food auction in the dining area
Staff Day set for May 30
Celebrate Missouri S&T’s Staff Appreciation Day on Wednesday, May 30. The theme is “Fiesta at High Noon.” An opening ceremony will kick off the day’s festivities at 9 a.m. in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. Staff will be served a free lunch 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Havener Center’s dining area. The food auction will begin at 2 p.m. in the dining area.
