Presenters needed for Smart Living research network session

The Smart Living signature area wants to develop research networks to stimulate smart living research and to be poised for action when calls for grant proposals are announced. A smart living research networking session will be held 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in 216 McNutt Hall. If you would like to be a presenter, please submit one to two PowerPoint slides to Nancy Stone at nstone@mst.edu by Monday, Feb. 19.

Four faculty awarded Smart Living seed funding

Four Missouri S&T faculty members have been awarded seed funding for two interdisciplinary projects related to S&T’s Smart Living signature area. The awards were selected from 13 proposals from 11 departments and 29 faculty members. Smart Living co-directors Dr. Bruce McMillin and Dr. Nancy Stone selected the winning proposals in consultation with the associate deans of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business and the College of Engineering and Computing. Das to co-chair SMARTCOMP 2016

Dr. Sajal Das, chair and professor of computer science and the Daniel C. St. Clair Endowed Chair in computer science, will serve as co-chair of the second IEEE International Conference on Smart Computing (SMARTCOMP 2016). The conference will be held May 18-20 in St. Louis. This year’s theme will be “Smart Living through Computing.”
