HLC accreditation visit planned Oct. 8-9, forums scheduled

A team of peer reviewers representing the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) will be on campus Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 8 and 9, as part of the accreditation process for Missouri S&T, and several forums will be held on Monday, Oct. 8, to help the reviewers assess whether S&T meets HLC’s criteria for accreditation. Forums planned Oct. 2 on UM System investments

HLC open forums planned this week

Missouri S&T will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in October. Now is the time to provide feedback on materials created for the evaluation. You may also learn about the accreditation process and provide feedback at open forums. The open forums were previously announced and the times have been changed. The forums will be held:

  • 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center
  • 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center
  • 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center

Give your feedback on strategic plan draft

Missouri S&T is contributing to a systemwide plan for all four University of Missouri System campuses, called the Missouri Compact for Education, Research, Engagement and Economic Development. All faculty, staff and students are invited to review the first draft of S&T’s plan and provide feedback to advocate@mst.edu. For consideration in the current draft, please submit your feedback by noon Friday, Dec. 8. All input will be considered throughout the process, which calls for final drafts in May 2018 and approval by the UM System Board of Curators in June 2018.

Open forums planned for AVC global learning candidates

The campus community is invited to attend open forums for candidates for the position of assistant vice chancellor for global learning. During their presentations, candidates will discuss current and emerging global and domestic trends in distance and online learning, and how universities such as Missouri S&T can position themselves to be leaders in these areas. A question-and-answer period will follow and forum attendees will be invited to complete an electronic survey following the presentations.
