Due to the chances of snow on Tuesday, Feb. 19, the full moon viewing planned at S&T’s observatory has been canceled. At this time, it will not be rescheduled because there are no clear days in the 10-day forecast.

Date change announced for moon viewing

The Missouri S&T Observatory will open its doors for viewing the moon at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11. The event was previously scheduled for later in the week, but has been moved up for better moon illumination. The viewing will end at 9 p.m.

Look to the skies tonight for fireworks, Saturn

Turn your eyes upward for two separate S&T events tonight (Monday, Sept. 17). First, watch fireworks at 8 p.m. from Havener Center’s lawn as part of the Research and Technology Development conference block party. Next, check out Saturn during an observatory open house at 9 p.m. To allow for the fireworks, parking lot M-36, located near McNutt Hall, will close at 3 p.m. today. All vehicles must be moved out of the lot by 5 p.m.
