Oct. 31 is deadline for annual training

To meet University of Missouri System’s annual training requirement, faculty and staff are required to pass mastery tests for two courses by midnight Tuesday, Oct. 31:

  • “Building a Foundation: Discrimination Prevention and Title IX” will take approximately one hour to complete. Visit umsystem.edu/ums/hr/ec_training to access the training in myLearn.
  • “MakeITSafe Information Security Awareness,” will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To access the training, log in to myHR at myhr.umsystem.edu, click on the “Training and Performance” box, and then click “MakeITSafe Training.” You will be directed to a Skillsoft course titled, “Security Awareness for End Users.”

Windows XP support ended

Microsoft ended support for Windows XP on April 8. Information technology has worked with S&T departments to identify and phase out more than 3,000 XP systems over the past three years. Now that Microsoft has officially ended support, once a security exploit for Windows XP is detected by IT Security, access to the campus network may be prohibited for any Windows XP system without further notice. The campus community is encouraged to upgrade any personally owned XP systems to avoid security and network access issues.
