Dr. Shannon Fogg, chair and associate professor of history and political science, was named to the editorial board of the journal French History. Published by Oxford University Press, the journal reaches over 3,000 institutions worldwide. During her five-year term, Fogg will be responsible for reviewing articles related to 20th-century French history, particularly those focused on the 1940s. Fogg has previously served on the editorial board of the journal French Historical Studies, published by Duke University Press.

Coward, the famed English playwright, singer and actor, performed at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas in 1955. Gragg provided background on organized crime in Las Vegas, Coward’s preparation for his performances and the importance of entertainment in attracting gamblers to casinos.

Sheppard’s talk, titled “Professional Networks of Women: Margaret Murray’s Role in Archaeology,” highlighted Murray’s work in Malta and her training of her female students and colleagues.

The episode Fogg assisted with features the story of actress Jane Seymour’s ancestors, who were Polish Jews that fled the Nazis in France during World War II.
