On May 12, nearly 1,300 new S&T graduates in fields as diverse as business, the humanities, engineering and science will head out into the world. Volunteer as an usher for spring commencement
Missouri S&T’s commencement committee seeks volunteers to usher during graduation ceremonies Saturday, May 12. Ushering will be a full day commitment with lunch provided. Ushering provides a great opportunity to interact with students, their families, and other faculty and staff who help make commencement happen. The S&T Store’s grad fair began yesterday and will end at 4:30 p.m. today (Thursday, March 22). During the event, save 10 percent on caps and gowns and diploma frames. Students can pick up personalized graduation announcements 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and get senior portraits taken for the yearbook 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Enter to win prizes, including a regalia set (cap, gown and tassel) or a diploma frame. Visit with staff from the registrar’s office and career opportunities and employer relations (COER).

Missouri S&T’s student commencement speaker program has been expanded so that all graduating students can apply for the opportunity to speak at their commencement ceremony on May 12. Students who will be receiving their Ph.D., master’s degree or bachelor’s degree at the May ceremony may apply. The application deadline for all students is 4 p.m. today (Monday, March 5). Student commencement speakers selected
The Winter 2017 commencement ceremonies will feature student speakers. Undergraduate students were invited this fall to compete for the chance to become one of four speakers. The following individuals will present their speeches during their graduation ceremony Saturday, Dec. 16, in Gale Bullman Building:
Morning ceremony at 10 a.m.
- Madison Morris, bachelor of science in biology, representing the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business
- Dajae Moe Williams, bachelor of science in engineering management, representing the College of Engineering and Computing
Afternoon ceremony at 3:30 p.m.
- Lauren Cockrum, bachelor of science in business and management systems, representing the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business
- Kelcy Yunghans, bachelor of science in electrical engineering, representing the College of Engineering and Computing
Grad fair at bookstore kicks off Oct. 18
The S&T Store will hold a grad fair 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, and Thursday, Oct. 19. Save 10 percent on caps and gowns, tassels and diploma frames. Meet with a Balfour ring and announcement representative. Visit with staff members from the registrar’s office and career opportunities and employer relations (COER).
