Committee to review policy on grad student support
Missouri S&T’s policy II-26, “Externally Funded Graduate Assistantships” has been temporarily suspended until Monday, Dec. 31. In the meantime, a committee will evaluate the policy on graduate student tuition waivers. The committee includes representation from graduate students, administrative leaders and faculty. The Missouri S&T General Faculty will holds its annual fall meeting at 4 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 4) in Room 125 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Topics include a memorial resolution for Dr. Russell Buhite, introduction of new faculty, and reports from Dr. Chris Maples, interim chancellor, and Dr. Michael Bruening, president of Faculty Senate.

Libre receives President’s Award for Innovative Teaching
University of Missouri System President Mun Choi presented Dr. Nicolas Libre with the President’s Award for Innovative Teaching at a faculty meeting March 22. Libre is an assistant teaching professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, and the first recipient of 10 awards that the president will give in 2018.
