Wright publishes new book; Malone and Dolan contribute
Dr. David Wright, associate professor of English and technical communication, recently published an edited volume titled “Communication Practices in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Research for Food and Water Safety.” The book was published by Wiley-IEEE Press. Wright served as editor and author for the book, which also features articles by Dr. Edward Malone, professor of English and technical communication, and Dr. Kathryn Dolan, assistant professor of English and technical communication.

Rachel Schneider, assistant teaching professor of English and technical communication, was asked to write a blog post for the American Society of Eighteenth-Century Studies’ Graduate Caucus website. Schneider’s post focused on what you can do in your Ph.D. program to best prepare yourself for an academic career as a professor, from the perspective of someone who has recently graduated and found employment.

Gene Doty, former chair of English and technical communication, died last Friday. He served as chair of English and technical communication from 2006 until his retirement in 2009. He joined the faculty in 1967. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Eugene Northern Community Hall, 400 W. 4th St. in Rolla.
