A new tuition structure, approved by the University of Missouri System Board of Curators in May, goes into effect in the fall. Under this new structure, undergraduate and graduate non-resident tuition rates will increase by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 2.1 percent. This increase complies with a state law that requires public colleges and universities to limit tuition increases to the CPI. For undergraduate students who are residents of Missouri, however, tuition will increase by 1 percent as the result of an agreement with the Missouri General Assembly.

Read More »The University of Missouri System Board of Curators will meet on campus this Thursday and Friday, April 12-13, in St. Pat’s A and B of the Havener Center. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. each day and is open to the public. Interim Chancellor Chris Maples will address the board at approximately 9:30 a.m. Friday and will discuss Missouri S&T community outreach and engagement efforts. Following Maples’ presentation, the curators will hold a “critical issues discussion” about the work of the University Task Force, which has been looking at issues related to leadership, management, organization, performance and expectations for the university’s organization as a system.

Read More »The third and final phase of the Biosciences Complex at Missouri S&T is included in the list of major construction and renovation projects approved by the University of Missouri System Board of Curators on Nov. 10. The curators’ approval of this project — further renovation and expansion of Schrenk Hall, which houses the chemistry and biological sciences departments — means it is now on a short list of capital projects that includes a project from each University of Missouri System campus and MU Health Care, or five projects in all. These projects will be further evaluated for consideration at a March 2018 meeting of the Board of Curators Finance Committee. Get more details.

Maples, interim chancellor of Missouri S&T since May 2017, will continue to serve in that capacity through May 31, 2019. Maples’ original appointment was for one year.
