‘Worriers to Warriors’ helps students conquer test anxiety

The counseling services staff offers a three-session workshop titled “Worriers to Warriors: Conquering Test Anxiety” to help students manage their anxiety and perform better academically. The series will be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Fridays, Sept. 21, Sept. 28 and Oct. 5. Students can contact counseling services at counsel@mst.edu or 341-4211 for the location and to reserve their space. Space is limited and participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Counseling services, financial aid offices closed today

Two offices are temporarily closed today (Wednesday, Aug. 1) for staff development.

  • The counseling services office will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, for students, faculty and staff. For more information, call the office at 341-4211 and listen to the entire voice message.
  • The student financial assistance office will re-open Thursday, Aug. 2, and resume regular business hours of 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Counseling services to expand groups offered

Counseling services offers a variety of group therapy options for students including ADHD Support, Safety, Building Social Confidence, Miners for Recovery and Mood Management. Additionally, this week offerings are expanding to include Test Anxiety, Graduate Support, Body Image and Living with Loss. Care coordination available in counseling

Do you know who to contact if you are concerned about a student? One resource at Missouri S&T is care coordination. Care coordination involves advocacy, intervention and helping students. The main goal is to help students optimize their functioning and be as successful as possible. Students are welcome to visit with S&T’s care coordinator, Krista Morris-Lehman, about their concerns.
