As gene editing techniques become more refined, the possibility of editing the human genome is moving from science fiction to reality. A public forum, “Editing our Evolution: Rewriting the Human Genome,” will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. Dr. Dave Westenberg received funding from Building with Biology to host a public forum on synthetic biology this summer at Missouri S&T. Missouri S&T is one of just over 20 sites selected nationwide. Building with Biology is a nationwide project funded by the National Informal STEM Education Network.
