Windows 11 transition update
In 2023, S&T’s information technology team began focusing efforts on and communicating to employees about the transition to the Windows 11 operating system so campus computers comply with UM System Information Security policies and guidelines. In fall 2025, Microsoft will stop supporting the Windows 10 operating system.

As the first week of classes unfolds, Missouri S&T’s first-day enrollment for the fall semester has increased approximately 1% over last fall’s first-day enrollment. This year’s first-day enrollment is at 7,022 students, compared to the 2022 first-day enrollment of 6,971.
Read More »Schrenk Hall water outage extended to Aug. 21
On Monday, Aug. 7, facilities operations began repairing the sewer lines outside Schrenk Hall. The repairs were scheduled to take up to four days. Now, the repairs are estimated to be complete by Monday, Aug. 21.

Dr. Costas Tsatsoulis, vice chancellor of research, invites the research community to a “Let’s Talk Research” meeting via Zoom at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21. The twice-monthly meetings are open to all, and to all research-related topics.
Read More »Celebration of Life planned for Ryan Wesley Swier
The Missouri S&T community is saddened to learn of the death of Ryan Wesley Swier of Rolla, who passed away Aug. 8 at Phelps Health. Swier was 19 and pursuing computer science and mechanical engineering degrees at S&T.
A “Celebration of Life” service in his memory will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the Rolla chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary. A visitation for family and friends will be held 3-4 p.m. at the chapel prior to the service.
