Course redesign grants available
All regular full-time tenured, tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty at Missouri S&T are invited to apply for mini-grants of up to $5,000 to help design or redesign an undergraduate course that will fit within the Latin American studies for technical applications (LASTA) minor. A letter of intent is due to the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation (CERTI) at certi@mst.edu by Friday, Nov. 17.

AT&T is sponsoring a case study competition concerning smart city initiatives in November. Teams will get a case study from AT&T and one week to find the best solution to the situation. Teams must comprise four students and include at least one student in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business and one student in the College of Engineering and Computing. Lt. Oscar Kemp, in partnership with S&T’s Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, will host a “Cops and Miners” paintball tournament Saturday, Nov. 4, at Paintball Preserve to raise money for Special Olympics Missouri. Paintball Preserve is located at 12285 County Road 5280 in Rolla. The event will be limited to 25 teams of five in a two-game elimination tournament against the public safety community.

Annual enrollment for benefit-eligible employees begins today (Monday, Oct. 16) and will end Friday, Oct. 27. It is your opportunity to decide which insurance works best for you. Here are a few ways you can learn more about changes coming in 2018 and your options:
- Visit the University of Missouri System’s Annual enrollment site.
- Attend a presentation 9-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in St. Pat’s A of the Havener Center.
- Contact Marcia Lane, human resources generalist, at lanema@mst.edu, to host a department presentation, schedule a one-on-one session or ask your individual questions about insurance options and the annual enrollment process.
If you do not choose by midnight Friday, Oct. 27, you will default to the Healthy Savings plan at the non-discounted rate and pay taxes on your monthly premiums for coverage beginning Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.
