The mechanical and aerospace engineering department and the Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers will host a presentation by Dr. Cynthia Hipwell 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in Room 199 Toomey Hall. Hipwell is a research professor at Texas A&M University and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Hipwell’s presentation is titled “Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording Feasibility: An Agile Development Adventure.” She will discuss the technical and business drivers for area density growth in the data storage industry. Hipwell also will discuss using lean startup and agile technology development practices to increase the pace of technology development to match business needs.
